Submissions for the 2017 Recovery Street Film Festival are now open! This years theme is Making Up for Lost Time. This could mean anything to you - things you wish you'd said, regrets, 24 hours you'll never get back. We'd love your creative take on this - in 3 mins. It's about the message and storytelling, not how technical the film is.
There are lots of different ways that you can get involved in this years festival;
- Make a film
- Become a Charity partner by hosting a screening and helping us promote the festival
- Become a Commercial partner
- Contact us about other opportunities and information
Last year HRH The Duchess of Cambridge attended a Recovery Street Film Festival event for a special showcase of the winning films from the past three years. She also met creators of the festival, winning filmmakers and representatives from the charities involved to hear about inspiring stories of overcoming addiction.
Congratulations to this 2016 winning entry 'Hope Inside' which celebrates recovery at HMP Wymott.
Service users talk about their own experiences of addiction and what led to their 'light bulb moment'. The stories highlight that there is enjoyment in recovery, there is hope and as one service user puts it: "it's just really, really good being clean."
