For the third year in a row we are inviting you to share your stories in the Recovery Street Film Festival.
The festival is open to anyone with a lived experience of addiction, whether yourself or a loved one, and who has a story to tell about addiction and recovery. You will have the opportunity to enter a competition to make a 3 minute film about addiction and the journey to recovery. This film should inspire others to understand addiction and recover, or to attain and maintain their recovery.
The Recovery Street Film Festival will be held this September during national Recovery Month.
As in previous years, a panel of judges from the film industry will decide on an overall winner selected from the shortlist. All films submitted will be available to view online- creating a library of films about recovery.
We’ll also be taking the festival to the streets by showing a selection of the films at busy street locations of major cities, turning the street into ‘Recovery Street’ for the day. We’ll set up a mobile Recovery Street cinema and invite members of the public to stop and view a short film or two and encourage them to seek out more on-line, or we’ll be using existing film venues to show the films.
We are inviting entries from 11th April to 29th July, so now is the time to start thinking about how you are going to tell your story.
In need of some inspiration? The shortlist of films can be viewed above.
